Leadership

Meet our Hall Leadership Team!

4th West has one Community Coordinator (CC) and three Residential Life Assistants (RLAs) living on hall to support our residents during their time at NCSSM. Get to know a little bit about us here!

Community Coordinator

Hello! My name is Ethan Pardue, and I am your Community Coordinator on 4th West. In this role, it is my responsibility to build a caring and engaging hall community, and to support the studies, social lives, and growth of each of my students on hall. It is my hope that 4th West will come to feel like a home away from home for you during your time at NCSSM!

I was born and raised in Nashville, North Carolina, and am excited to return to my home state after four years away completing my undergraduate studies. I graduated from Harvard College as a member of the Class of 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and secondary coursework in psychology. While I did not attend NCSSM as a student, I am happy to be here now as a member of the Student Services team.

During college, I spent two summers as a resident advisor with the Harvard Summer School's Secondary School Program and served as a hometown ambassador to Nash County, North Carolina, for the Harvard College Admissions Office. I am especially passionate about preparing students from under-resourced rural areas for their college experience, but love having conversations about how to get ready for life after high school with students from all socioeconomic backgrounds.

I also have a longstanding love for all things music. I sang with the a cappella group "Under Construction" at Harvard from 2015 to 2019, interned at Geffen Records in California during January 2019, and have performed in musical theatre showcases since I was in high school. I began exploring songwriting and vocal music composition while in college, and will be sponsoring the UniChords a cappella group and Spectrum LGBT+ student group this academic year at Science and Math. I would be happy to share these interests and many more with our residents on 4th West and the rest of NCSSM!

Residential Life Assistants

Mason

Hi! My name is Mason Evans and I’m from Wilmington, which is on the coast. I’m super into track and field and piano and also love to read, watch anime, play some video games, and play soccer. I’m a Patriots (I know, everyone hates the Patriots), Red Sox, Liverpool, and UNC fan and try to keep up with a lot of sports. I’ll be on the track and field team this year and hopefully will restart a music community service club I have run at my home high school in the past. I can be a bit introverted sometimes, so please feel free to approach me! I look forward to meeting everyone and having a great full year!

Baeden

Hi, my name is Baeden Vester and I am going to be one of your RLAs this year. I am from the Nashville area and I previously attended the Nash-Rocky Mount Early College. I enjoy programming, listening to music, swimming, and getting to know my hallmates. I am a member of SM's Quiz Bowl team and I plan on getting involved in more clubs this year. I look forward to meeting all of the new hall members as well as the members I was unable to meet last year.

Jake

Hi and welcome to 4W! I’m Jake Rose and I will be one of your RLAs for this year.  I’m from Wilmington and attended Ashley HS before NCSSM.  I really enjoy building things, mostly using 3D printing and CNC machining, and am part of the Rocketry Club at Smath. I am also part of HOSA and the Research in Chemistry program.  This past year, some of my favorite memories were hanging out on hall and talking with my hallmates and I’m excited to create more memories on hall.  I loved being part of 4W last year and am looking forward to creating a great hall this year. 4W on top!
