Leadership
Meet our Hall Leadership Team!
4th West has one Community Coordinator (CC) and three Residential Life Assistants (RLAs) living on hall to support our residents during their time at NCSSM. Get to know a little bit about us here!
Community Coordinator
Hello! My name is Ethan Pardue, and I am your Community Coordinator on 4th West. In this role, it is my responsibility to build a caring and engaging hall community, and to support the studies, social lives, and growth of each of my students on hall. It is my hope that 4th West will come to feel like a home away from home for you during your time at NCSSM!
I was born and raised in Nashville, North Carolina, and am excited to return to my home state after four years away completing my undergraduate studies. I graduated from Harvard College as a member of the Class of 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and secondary coursework in psychology. While I did not attend NCSSM as a student, I am happy to be here now as a member of the Student Services team.
During college, I spent two summers as a resident advisor with the Harvard Summer School's Secondary School Program and served as a hometown ambassador to Nash County, North Carolina, for the Harvard College Admissions Office. I am especially passionate about preparing students from under-resourced rural areas for their college experience, but love having conversations about how to get ready for life after high school with students from all socioeconomic backgrounds.
I also have a longstanding love for all things music. I sang with the a cappella group "Under Construction" at Harvard from 2015 to 2019, interned at Geffen Records in California during January 2019, and have performed in musical theatre showcases since I was in high school. I began exploring songwriting and vocal music composition while in college, and would be happy to share any of these interests and many more with the students at NCSSM.
Residential Life Assistants
MARCO
Hi, my name is Marco Barrientos and I will be one of the three RLAs on 4th West this year. I am from Charlotte and very excited to be returning to NCSSM to some fresh faces on hall. I enjoy ultimate frisbee, reading, funky tunes, and socializing. Not too fond of country music or casseroles. My favorite parts of NCSSM last year were the hall and campus activities and eating out at 9th Street and Heavenly Buffaloes. I look forward to another positive experience this year.
WILL
Hello! My name is Will, and I’m going to be one of your RLAs for the 2019-2020 school year. I live in Durham and attended Durham Academy before coming to NCSSM as a junior last year. I enjoy playing sports, and have participated on the NCSSM Varsity Soccer and Tennis teams. I also play competitive chess and I am a leader of the NCSSM Chess Team this year. I had a really great experience living of 4th West last year and I hope to make the upcoming school year productive, memorable, and fun for everyone this year.
ANDY
Congrats on moving onto the best hall on campus! My name is Andy J. Wang, and I will be one of your RLAs on 4th West (on top). Before NCSSM, I went to Durham Academy with several of your senior hall-mates, including my Co-RLA Will Staples. At NCSSM, I am a Senior Senator in Student Government, as well as a leader for the Computer Science Team and Club. Feel free to ask me about joining! In my free time I enjoy playing volleyball and meeting new people. I had a great time on 4W last year, and I intend to make this year just as amazing for all of you!
