I am from the southern part of the state, coming from Robeson County in a little town called Orrum (10-20 minutes outside of Lumberton, NC). I attended NCSSM from 2019-2021, before continuing on to earn a Bachelor's of Science in Biology (Zoology concentration) from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. While attending UNCP, I worked as both a residential advisor and as a research assistant in the biology department. During my time as a research assistant, I studied insects and ecology through a study on the dietary relationships between honeydew insects and invasive fire ants. 

While I am new to the community coordinator position at NCSSM, I am excited to share my passions and engage with the students to make their time here fun and exciting! I am a nerd and nature enthusiast at heart, and hope to share my passions with the students to help them form friendships, explore the world around them, and have fun while they are here learning!

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource and part of the support system for students

• Provide fun and engaging hall activities

• Ensure cleanliness standards on hall and in rooms

• Work as part of a duty rotation and provide support to entire campus.

• Directly handle minor disciplinary incidents and investigate larger incidents
